At Lake State he earned many team awards, was named assistant captain his junior year and team captain his senior season. Following a successful career in the NCAA, Knox continued to play professional hockey. He attended training camps for the Ottawa Senators and the Colorado Avalanche and played for various teams in the AHL and ECHL. His first professional season he was named an ECHL All-Star. Chris Stanley is one of Parry Sounds’ most accomplished hockey players. A highly
skilled centre, Stanley began his development through Parry Sound Minor Hockey. He
went on to excel in the Ontario Hockey League with the Belleville Bulls. He earned

Following his OHL career, Stanley made a name for himself with the Dalhousie Tigers. During this time, he earned CIAU All-Canadian Rookie honours as well as other league awards and all-star selections. In his senior year at Dalhousie, he put together a season that earned his team a bronze medal at U Sport Nationals as well as the individual honour of Top Player in the Country. He followed up his university career with two years with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. 2006 saw Stanley play his first season in Europe, playing for the Heilbronner Falcons in Germany. This began a 15-year playing career across Europe, primarily in Germany. Following his retirement from professional hockey, he transitioned into player development. He continues to coach and mentor athletes through his business, CS 79 Hockey.
